About JIKON: Blue Scales in Oneness

Now -JIKON- Blue scales are one and the same

"Ikon" means "living in the present."
Live this moment to the fullest without being tied down to the past or the future.

Easier said than done.
Today's society is full of noise, but why not take a moment to forget the hustle and bustle of the world while drinking tea?

The taste of tea, its infinite resolution, is a realm that cannot be reached no matter how much technology advances.
The deliciousness is not felt in the past or the future, but in the present moment.

The concept of "JIKON" is "a teacup to hold with both hands"
———Just for one puff to keep you in the present.

"Sorin" is fired with "crystalline glaze", a specialty of the potter Touan, which gives each piece a unique scale pattern.
The beautiful shine of the blue dragon's scales and the dull, rustic color of the copper give it the air of being something that stands the test of time for a thousand years.

Only God knows what it will look like.
———Spontaneous beauty with infinite possibilities that humans cannot control.

About Touan, the Kyoto-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki Pottery Maker

Since its founding in 1922 at Sennyuji Temple in Higashiyama, Kyoto, the Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki kiln manufacturer "Touan" has continued to use high-quality raw materials and create works by skilled craftsmen, which have earned it a high reputation for their quality and creativity.
While inheriting the traditions of Kyoto ware from Nonomura Ninsei and Ogata Kenzan, he is constantly working on technological innovation.
"JIKON" was planned and designed by QUTOTEN. and produced after repeated consultations with the fourth-generation head of the family, Yoshiaki Tsuchibuchi, about the development of glazes and the selection of clay.
