We will be collaborating with Fukuoka-based contemporary artist "Backside works." ( @backsideworks ) at Kyushu Plants Showcase 2023, which will be held from November 18th (Sat) to 19th (Sun) 2023.
[ About Backside works.
A contemporary artist who calls himself a mixed subculture artist.
Backside works., based in Fukuoka, says it was influenced by the subcultures of anime and manga from the 1980s and 1990s.
She creates mixed media contemporary art and portrays heroines, using a variety of media including paint on canvas, silkscreen printing, giclee, and stickers to bring her imaginary heroines to life on canvas.
He also has a deep respect for Japanese otaku and street culture among other subcultures, and his work is highly compatible with these, preferring techniques such as Japanese animation, manga, and graffiti art, and he excels in pen drawings and spray painting.
The concept is "heroine."
The heroines in my work have stories to tell. To bring them into existence, I start by creating a detailed story.
I don't just want to draw cute, fashionable girls. I want to draw the "heroine," who sees the viewer as the "protagonist" and builds the story together with the protagonist.
It is with this belief that I paint.
The art world is run by devilish logic, including market trends, the value standards of artists and artworks, and critics' comments.

Wearing a kimono makes a woman feel brave.
It's the same in the past, future and present.
By embracing the very essence of dazzling splendor, women become strong and beautiful.
The kimono is like a woman's "armor."

[About sales of collaborative works]
The collaborative piece will be available in two colors: "Rikyu -RIKYU- Wears Splendor (White Glaze)" and "Rikyu -RIKYU- Wears Armor (Black Glaze)."
Only 50 of each (with serial number) will be sold.
You cannot choose the serial number.
It will be random.
We also plan to sell the products online at a later date, with 35 of each available at VALIANT GALLERY ( @valiant_gellery ) and 15 of each available for purchase online.
Sales at VALIANT GALLERY will be by lottery.
To apply, fill out the application form during the event with your name, address, phone number, and Instagram account, then drop it into the designated box to complete your application.
Please note that there will be a limit of one application per person for each type.
Winners will be notified via Instagram DM around Friday, November 24th.
*There is a possibility that it may be earlier.
The products will be shipped out starting from Sunday, November 26th.
